I like Cindy's chances...

Today the Merc covered the final weekend of campaigning from both Reed and Chavez: http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/politics/elections/15937555.htm.

Despite two recent polls that demonstrated a large lead for Chuck, I like Cindy's chances heading into the election. As the Merc calls it, Cindy's campaign has a number of superior advantages coming into tomorrow. Elections are won and lost on the backs of volunteers. The number of volunteers who have been working around the clock for Cindy is probably quite high.

Zoe Lofgren came out this weekend to fire up the Chavez camp and told the story of her come from behind victory over Tom McEnery. McEnery, meanwhile, is scheduled to appear in a Reed advertisement during the final 48 hours of campaigning.

Hopefully this will be a spirited stretch drive!

I'm pretty fired up already. I just wish I could get tomorrow off to knock and drag all day!

I think we're going to see MAJOR changes in government tomorrow. I think the Dems are going to have a clean sweep up and down the state... well, I think Arnie still wins, but I think all other open seats go Dem.

I think Chavez wins. I think these polls are notorious for undercounting minority and blue collar voters. I think the Chavez troops come out in full force tomorrow.

maybe if chuck hadn't campaigned for arnold, angelides would be a part of the clean sweep you're predicting!

If Chuck Reed(iculous) wins, the Mercury News should go down as one of the most corrupt election-influencing forces over the last 30 years.

I'm not going to even get into all the different ways that the paper has covered issues unfairly. I'm not going to even get into the fact that CHUCK IS RELATED TO PEOPLE ON THE MERCURY NEWS STAFF!!!! (You MW'ers should investigate THAT issue - you'll be quite surprised when you find out how!) My beef is with how the Merc has attempted to suppress SJ voter turnout.

They do so in two ways: They dedicate repeated coverage to their polls and they report on absentee trends that support Chuck. Everybody who has ever studied politics knows that polls undercount labor/minority voters. Everybody knows that. Everybody knows that the more conservative voters are the most disciplined and consistent. The polls do not matter at ALL! The only thing that matters is how strong of a get out the vote campaign the more left-leaning candidate has. That's it. But the Merc has continually focused on how the election is already over. They're trying to demoralize Chavez supporters to deter them from voting. It's reeeediculous!

I'm not going to even get into Sv411/Metro's coverage. Their last entry: "it's looking more like mayor reed" shows how committed they are to deterring Chavez voters from coming to the polls!

Yeah, don't even get me started on how slimy and grimey the Metro has become!

What is Chuck's connection to the Merc? You can't just make allegations and not back them up!!

Find out who the editor of the front page of the Mercury News is married to...

follow that lead and you'll see just how tainted the Mercury News truly is!

LOL, some chance she had. You all are clueless. This was over months ago, today is just the Reed coronation.

Pride restored! Reed babay!
